How to Rename Devices

You can easily rename your American Standard Home® devices through the American Standard Home mobile app or web portal.  You can use the links below to jump to the desired section.

In the Mobile App

1. After logging into the app, if you have multiple homes, select the home you wish to change.
   
2. Select the device you wish to change.
   
3. Tap the name of the device/pencil icon at the top of the screen.
   
4. Delete the current name and enter the desired name. Press Go/Done/Return (depending on your device) when finished.
   

    

    

   On the Web Portal

   There are two different processes for renaming a device on the Trane Home web portal.  The process you will use depends on the type of device you want to rename. 

   XL Thermostats (XL824/XL850/XL1050) All Devices Except XL Thermostats

    

XL Thermostats (XL824/XL850/XL1050)

1. Log into the American Standard Home web portal.
2. If you have multiple homes, select the home you wish to change.
   
3. Select Climate from the menu on the left side of the page.
   
4. Locate the thermostat you wish to change and click Menu.
   
5. Select Settings.
   
6. Select System Name.
   
7. Click into the text box where the current name is displayed and delete the text.
   
8. Enter the desired name and click Apply.
   

 

 

All Devices Except XL Thermostats

2. Log into the American Standard Home web portal.
3. If you have multiple homes, select the home you wish to change.
   
4. Identify the category of device you are changing (camera, sensor, switch, etc.) and select the appropriate category from the blue menu on the left side of the page. 
   
   
5. Once in the selected category, locate the device you want to change and select Edit Settings.
   
6. Click into the text box where the current name is displayed and delete the text.
   
   
7. Enter the desired name, and click Save Changes.
