Factory Reset of Standalone Bridge Devices
Overview
American Standard® Home supports two models of standalone bridge/controller devices, including the older BR100 and the newer model BR200. Bridges/controllers allow you to control Z-Wave® devices on your home network.
-
NOTE: This article applies only to standalone bridge models BR100 and BR200. There are built-in bridges in the XL (Gold/Platinum) line of thermostats that support home automation and device control, but the management of these devices is covered in the WiFi Thermostats section of this help center.
A factory reset resets ALL Z-Wave information and removes ALL Z-Wave devices from the bridge.
- If this bridge is the primary controller for your network, resetting it will remove all the devices in your network. Be certain that this is what you want to do before proceeding, as it cannot be undone.
- Following the factory reset, it will be necessary to manually remove each device from the network and re-add them.
If your BR100 or BR200 bridge does not connect or register properly with American Standard Home, it may be because it has an incorrect or duplicate home ID associated with it. If the bridge was received in an unknown state and it is unknown whether other devices have been associated with this bridge, it is best to start the registration and device configuration in a cleared state by performing a factory reset.
To Reset the BR100 Bridge
- Plug the bridge into an AC power source.
- Press and hold the (+) and (-) buttons simultaneously and hold for 10 seconds.
- Release both buttons.
- The orange light on the bridge will continue to flash for 10-15 seconds as it resets.
To Reset the BR200 Bridge
- Plug the bridge into an AC power source.
- Using a paper clip or similar object, press the RESET button for at least 5 seconds, then release it.
Clearing All Network Devices From the Bridge
With both bridge models, once the bridge has been factory reset, you must remove all network devices and then add them back to the bridge again.
-
Press and release the (-) button on the bridge.
BR100 BR200 - Follow the device manufacturer's instructions for setting the Z-Wave device into Learn mode. You will have 4 minutes to set the device into Learn mode after pressing the (-) button.
- Repeat these steps for all devices on your network until all devices are removed.
Adding Devices Back to the Cleared Bridge
Once all of the devices have been removed from the bridge, they need to be added back to the bridge so they can be controlled by the bridge and the American Standard Home application.
-
Press and release the (+) button on the bridge.
BR100 BR200 - Follow the device manufacturer's instructions for setting the Z-Wave device into Learn mode. You will have 4 minutes to set the device into Learn mode after pressing the (+) button.
-
Repeat these steps for all devices on your network until all devices are added.
